Senior Infants Term 1

Senior Infants began their learning journey this year with a lovely walk together to Monivea Woods. The children gathered and identified leaves along the way and talked about the different signs of Autumn they could see in their environment. Maths Week was a busy time in the classroom, with lots of fun and games! The boys and girls especially enjoyed constructing interesting shapes with magnets in small groups and bringing home their amazing colourful caterpillars with numbers 1-10.

The children were very lucky to participate in a scooter workshop (Thank you Ms. Meaney!) We talked about rules of the road and scooter safety and the children had lots of fun bringing their scooters to school and showing their helmets to their friends. We celebrated Halloween by dressing up and playing some fun games in the classroom. The children talked to their relatives about games they played in the past and had the opportunity to try a few traditional Halloween games with their friends in the classroom. It was a little messy but so much fun!
