October 2023

 We have had many different experiences throughout October. The week of the 7th October was Coding week, so we had a go at a simple coding activity on the Ipads using Scratch. 

We were learning about the signs of Autumn and we went for a nature walk to the village to gather some leaves and other Autumnal themed seeds and fruit. We used the items that we gathered to make some autumn-themed pictures. 

Maths Week was on the week of the 14th October. We played Maths games in class, such as BINGO, cards, dominoes, Snakes and Ladders and Apple Tree. We also played maths games on the Ipads. 

 

Our Aistear theme was Firefighters. We cut out clothes to dress a firefighter, dressed as firefighters in the role play area, drew a firefighter picture, labelled a fire station and acted out the role of a firefighter in a fire in Small World.

We dressed up for Halloween and played games in class. We also watched a Halloween Movie with a few treats.
