A very busy Thursday for Junior Infants

Last Thursday was indeed a very busy day.
In the morning we celebrated the return of past pupil Áine with her gold medal for bowling which she won at the Special Olympics held in Abu Dhabi.

After having our morning break a little earlier than normal  we joined up with the other Junior Infant class for a walk to the village where our first stop was at the local Post Office. As part of our Aistear activities for March we are learning all about the Post Office. We wrote a card to Lorraine our secretary, everyone signed it, we bought a stamp which cost €1 and  then we  posted it in the post box outside the Post Office. We also learned about the many other services that the Post Office provides for the village of Monivea.

Then we continued on to the local woods. We were so fortunate with the weather. It was a beautiful sunny spring day.On our walk we looked at the buds on the trees,we listened to the birds, we saw jets in the sky,we learned all about recycling and litter and enjoyed our time outside of the classroom.
